At the time, I was the XO on the the USS Apache (ATF-67). We towed the USS Whitesands (ARD-20) with the  baythsacphe Trieste (DSV-1) in her drydock bay. The cruise and on-site operation in the Atlantic lasted from January 1969 until late November (early Dec??) 1969. . . . .
